Mark Cross is one of the oldest companies in the United States, dating back to 1845. As a leather goods brand they made saddles and horse accoutrements, and opened flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York. Then the company passed down to his son, Gerald, with his wife, Sara, the power couple of the Lost Generation who inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tender Is the Night. Grace Kelly, that was an avid fan, made one the bags, the box bags particularly famous when she carried it in the 1954 film, Rear Window, (the bag to transport her lingerie when she traveled). After Gerald stepped down in 1955, Mark Cross took on various owners. Few years ago the relaunched and now the brand is start to be a cult brand also especially after that Taylor Swift start wearing his bags.
